I love the flavours of mulled drinks and spiced mulled cider is the perfect hot alcoholic beverage. As soon as the cold weather hits I can’t wait to get some mulled cider or wine cooking on the hob. It’s a great way to start getting in the festive spirit too!
It’s full of spices like cinnamon, star anise and cloves and I have used maple syrup to sweeten. This mulled cider recipe couldn’t be easier. Everything gets thrown in a pan and left to heat and stew for about 20 minutes.
I love adding a shot of spiced rum to this recipe or you can add your favourite spirit to make it a little boozier. Of course, you can just leave it as it is because that is delicious too!
When is too soon to start talking about the C word? I’ve definitely already spoken about Christmas and when your a food blogger/photographer you have to start planning ahead. Christmas shoots in my house started in October, which I know is probably a crime to some people.
I just love Christmas, I always have. Although it doesn’t feel quite as exciting the older I get it is definitely fun seeing my nieces and nephews enjoying it. Christmas to me is all about spending time with family and loved ones, not about how many presents you have.
I have some really tasty Christmas recipes coming up on the blog for you, so stay tuned! And when it’s time to do that cooking or baking, make a batch of this mulled cider and play your favourite Christmas songs. It always gets me in the festive spirit!
